The Vipers U12 A2 team participated in the Mad City Fall Classic in Madison, WI this past weekend, Oct 26th – 28th. We finished in second place in the PeeWee B division with an overall record of 3-2.  NIHL teams played included Wilmette Braves #3 (win, 5-2), Orland Park Vikings (win, 5-2), and the Rockford Roadrunners (loss, 3-6 and a bounce back Semi Final win, 6-1).

The Championship game against St Louis Rockets (would be a NIHL Gold B or Silver A team) resulted in a loss of 6-3.

Coming into the tournament, after going 8-0 in the seeding round, the team experienced their first loss of the season.  Losses are always hard, especially in a tournament, but the team responded immediately with 2 dominant wins to face off for a rematch of Friday night’s loss with the Rockford Roadrunners in the Semi Final.  Responding with dominant puck possession and strong defense, the team executed a 6-1 win to put themselves in the Championship game. It was a hard fought battle in the Championship, with the Vipers falling to the St Louis Rockets 6-3.

We will take the lessons learned and winning fire on with us this weekend to Lansing, MI as we will take part in the Spartans Cup! #ViperUp
